An extraordinary UK couple spent more than £10,000-pounds (equivalent to $16,000 USD) on a series of plastic surgery procedures for their Bloodhound Junior. Back in 2009, when owner's Denise and David Smart of Selby, North Yorkshire first discovered that their five-year-old dog had a rare skin disorder that led to folds of skin that interfered with the dog's vision, their dog Junior had an eyelash removed to help remedy the situation. With no avail, the UK couple was then referred to a specialist, Gary Leewin, to perform a 3-hour face lift operation to remove the excess skin from Junior. Leewing described as being “the most difficult he'd ever done - during a three-hour operation," according to the Daily Mail UK.

Since then, Junior has undergone several procedures, including the latest tummy-tuck to remove excess flaps of skin that was preventing him from running. What are the the costs you might ask? According to the Daily Mail UK here is the breakdown: face lift costs £1,200, ($2,000 USD), tummy tuck £700 ($1,100 USD). Further surgery and vet bills came to £7,200 ($11,700 USD) while medication tops £1,000 ($1,600 USD)
The UK couple had no reservations about the procedures. Denise said: “It's taken years off him and he does look like a young man again. “Before the operation he was fed up and looked like a grumpy old man. “Now he's more mobile and he's got a new lease of life.”
