Welcome to our first post!  The purpose of this blog is to gather news, fun facts, memorable stories, all happenings and even raise awareness for our dear furry friends.  Their unconditional love deserves to be noticed and us humans should learn to appreciate how lucky we are to have them around. We appreciate positive comments, story sharing and appreciate your support.

This is Lucy, my aunt's Golden retriever.  Her exact age is still a mystery because my aunt adopted her back in 2009 when she was almost homeless.  It was estimated that she was at least 10 years old at the time my aunt took her in.  It must be tough for Lucy to change living environment at this stage in life.

My aunt had never owned a dog before so she was hesitant in keeping Lucy, but it was the best decision she has ever made!  Lucy's calm and composed demeanor made her very easy to take care of.  And because of her age, she doesn't need as much walking either.  She still greets visitors with utmost enthusiasm though which is great to see! She even learned to bark with excitement when she hears the word "walk"!  Want to go for a Walk Lucy??  Woof Woof Woof!

Last year, there was a scare that Lucy might have cancer, which is one of the most common diseases for golden retrievers of her age.  She had her hind left leg operated on.  For at least a month, she had a huge bandage on and her movement was restricted.  We were ultimately relieved that it was not cancer.

Lucy is still living very comfortably at my aunt's place.
