Oscar is not just your normal shoplifting dog! He is a 10 year-old short-haired German Pointer with three legs who is believed to have escaped while his owner was on holiday, has come to this grocery mart in the city of Invercargill to nab a sausage of dog food!
Supermarket owner Esmay Hay was able to joke about the incident when referring to the three-legged pointer wasn't the average shoplifter: “They're usually of the two-legged kind.”
Adding that Ms. Hay suspected Oscar being a repeat offender: “We've noticed movement on the security cameras out the back, and there's been nobody here, so we're assuming now that Oscar may have paid us a visit before.”

Since news of Oscar's stunt, Ms Hay's daughter who had posted Oscar on Facebook has been bombarded with numerous inquiries about giving him a new home, but until then, Invercargill City Council official, John Youngsun said that Oscar would remain at the pound until his owner reclaimed him.
