The average cost of a wedding today is $27,000, for humans that is. But for two dogs the cost was a whopping $158,187.26. The bride is baby Hope Diamond, a white Coton de Tulear who is a rescue dog adopted by animal rights activist and celebrity Wendy Diamond. The groom Chilly Pasternak, the lucky poodle from Richmond, VA was chosen by online voters in a competition set up by Diamond who orchestrated the wedding as a benefit for the Humane Society of New York.

No Expense Spared

$6,000 was spent on a wedding dress, $5,000 on a sushi spread and $15,000 on an orchestra that took place at the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel in New York City. The event won the Guinness World Record for the most expensive pet wedding in the world. The newly wedding couple will now serve as the spokesdogs for Diamond's charity, Animal Affair founded in honor of her first rescue dog, Lucky who was also in the Guinness Record for the animal most photographed with celebrities.
The event was planned by a celebrity wedding planner, a former White House florist and celebrity chefs to garnish the event.
